New Delhi: Khalid Shah, an associate fellow at the Observer Research Foundation in New Delhi believes that something big is about to unfold in the valley looking at the preventive measures being put up by the Central government.
Shah, who has seen and reported on Kashmir conflict from close quarters, held a series of orders from the Central government in the past few days as a primary reason behind the panic looming across the state.
Demanding clarification from Modi government to put all speculations to rest, the ORF Associate Fellow said, you said that Amarnath Yatris and tourists are under threat.
But why students have been asked to leave their hostels? What threat do they have in the close confinement of their hostels as there are enough arrangements to take care of them, I haven't heard of any such thing ever in Kashmir, he added.
Putting ball in centre's court and agreeing to former Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah's demand for clarification on Article 35-A, Khalid said, 'the reluctance from Central government to come out and give a statement on this issue shows that something big is being discussed.'
