New Delhi: A Union Group of Ministers (GoM) held meeting over COVID-19 at the Health Ministry today.
Several senior ministers including Dr. Harshvardhan, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, S Jaishankar, Hardeep Singh Puri and other officials were present at the meeting.
After a long discussion, a go-ahead was given to shops selling non-essential goods at non-hotspot areas to remain open amid lockdown.
Meanwhile, the decision to postpone the use of rapid test kits for now was also taken in the meeting chaired by health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan.
The GoM also observed that COVID-19 situation in the country is under control and steps taken by the government are showing positive results.
India's total number of coronavirus positive cases have risen to 24,506 including 18,668 active cases, 5063 cured/discharged/migrated and 775 deaths, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
