Delhi Shocker: Female warden strip-searches girl students for lost money; case lodged

An enqiry committee has been formed to probe the strip-searching of two girl students by the female warden of the Ahilyabai Nursing College in Delhi. The 3rd year girl students were disrobed to find if they had stolen Rs 8,000 of warden's money. Nothing was found in the possession of the girls after the strip search and a case was booked based on parents' complaint.

New Delhi: A shocking incident has surfaced at the Ahilyabai Nursing College in Delhi when on suspicion of theft, a female warden stripped two girl students of the college and checked them. Based on a complaint by the parents, a case has been registered and the police are engaged in the investigation of the alleged offence.

According to the police, the victim girl students are studying BSC Nursing course at the Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Hospital. Both are in final year and Ahilyabai lives in Nursing Hostel. Meanwhile, two BSC Nursing final year girl students had gone to Mandi House area to attend a cultural program along with other students, where they met Warden Mamta.

After the program was over, the girl students and the warden were returning, when the warden alleged that eight thousand rupees had gone missing from her bag. After this, the warden expressed suspicion on the said two girl students. The warden is also accused of disrobing the third year girl students and checking them, but later nothing was found in possession of the girls.

As soon as the family members of the girl students got the information about the incident, they gathered in the hostel and complained to the administration. He also lodged a complaint alleging the incident of disrobing in the police station IP Estate. Police have registered a Void FIR u/s 354 IPC in IP Estate after preliminary inquiry and the matter has been transferred to Tilak Marg Police Station in New Delhi District.

Apart from this, a four-member inquiry committee was constituted in this matter under the chairmanship of the college principal, which mainly includes the principal and other senior officers of the faculty. Also, in view of the seriousness of the incident, the accused warden has been transferred from there.
