Fearlessness is CRPF's identity: MoS Home Nityanand Rai

Applauding CRPF jawans for continuously working during the coronavirus pandemic, Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai on Monday extended his wishes to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on the occasion of its 82nd raising day. On the occasion, Nityanand Rai also inaugurated an app entitled 'SAMBHAV' developed by the force for its personnel.

New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai on Monday extended his wishes to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on the occasion of its 82nd raising day, saying that fearlessness is your identity and you are committed to service and loyalty.

Applauding CRPF jawans for continuously working during the coronavirus pandemic, Nityanand Rai, said, "Whether it's about transporting the coronavirus-infected persons for their treatment or taking care of the corona warriors like doctors or nurses, the CRPF personnel never hesitate in performing their duties."

"In the Hot Springs area of Ladakh in October 1959, when China attacked us, 10 CRPF personnel lost their lives but China had to suffer a heavy loss," the minister said adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Amit Shah have full confidence in the force.

Amidst the waves of goodwill and greetings from people from all walks of life, CRPF today organised a quiet function, customised to meet the pandemic protocols, in its headquarters premises in New Delhi to mark the 82nd Raising Day.

On the occasion, Nityanand Rai also inaugurated an app entitled 'SAMBHAV' developed by the force for its personnel. The app provides a one-stop platform for the force personnel to access myriad matters pertaining to their service.

CRPF DG A.P. Maheshwari said that CRPF is a dedicated and multi-spectrum force with huge popular appeal.

Highlighting various specialised arenas CRPF has been working in, A.P. Maheshwari, said, "CRPF is the only force which, with its focus on community collaboration uniformly fits into the federal structure of our country and is widely accepted."

CRPF, raised as the Crown Representative's Police on 27th of July 1939 was rechristened as the Central Reserve Police Force in 1949. Over the last 82 years, the force went on gaining size to become the largest paramilitary force of the country with 246 battalions.
