New Delhi: Delhi Police on Tuesday registered a cheating case against the three unidentified people who duped a jewellery shop employee of 300 grams of gold in Delhi. Police said 32-year-old Kapil Solanki from Rajasthan, who works as a salesman in a jewellery shop in Karol Bagh was cheated by three fake CBI officers on Monday evening while he was asked to visit the factory on Tank Road.
Solanki was stopped by them on the way and while searching his belongings they robbed the gold worth Rs 15 lakh. On returning to the shop, Solanki checked his bag and found the gold missing. He informed his employer and a case has been registered on his complaint. Police are scanning CCTV footage of nearby areas to nab the three men. According to reports, Irani gang members were involved in the case and police are probing profiles of robbers who committed similar thefts in the past.
