New Delhi: An art exhibition of Mithira art was organised at Hauz Khas village in Delhi on Sunday.
Paintings of Mithila art or Madhubani paintings were put up in the exhibition.

Talking to media, Meena Varma, an art enthusiast, said that Mithila art is also known as Madhubani paintings because it is made in this region.
"Traditionally, these paintings are used on special occasions like marriages and birthdays. These paintings are used either on floor or walls," said Varma.
It is to be noted that the paintings depicted social issues, mythological stories and folklore.
