New Delhi: Ever since the announcement of dates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Member of Parliament Parvesh Verma is raring to test his fortunes for the second time.
In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat, Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, who is expecting to contest from the West Delhi constituency, asserted that he was ready to go among the people for the second time.
"We have worked very hard in every possible area i.e., education, health, infrastructure, water and transportation in last five years. Our work speaks volumes and we can proudly ask people to vote for us the second time," he added.
Verma further claimed that, till 2014, Delhi Municipal Corporation ran several schools in tents or temporary buildings, falling under the West Delhi parliamentary constituency, and since then they (BJP) have constructed 50 such school buildings, alongside providing basic amenities to Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences, functioning under the Delhi University.
"The route of Delhi Metro which was supposed to be extended till Najafgarh border, in the third phase, was also started and roads were constructed to resolve the traffic issue for the large population residing the area. Dabri and Bukkarvala road projects were also approved under my tenure," remarked Verma.
On the other hand, Verma also said that 70 villages out of 100 were now urbanised and several recreational parks were also constructed under the West Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.
"If we talk about the entire constituency, we have built nearly 2,500 parks, among which 1200 parks have been beautified and more than 600 parks are currently under construction. Apart from this, 12 Community Centers were also constructed," he added.
With respect to the water shortage faced by the residents of Dwarka in 2014, Verma said that they have resolved the issue and alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government had neglected the water-related issues.
"To supply sufficient drinking water to the public, the Delhi Development Authority has given the project to Delhi Jal Board," he maintained.
