New Delhi: Expressing concern over "anti-India" comments of former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti, a retired Delhi Police official has lodged a complaint against her, saying she should be booked under sedition laws of the country.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, retired ACP Ved Bhushan said any patriotic person would never tolerate comments that she has made after being released from a 14-month detention following the revocation of the special status to Jammu and Kashmir on August 5 last year.

"Her statements are anti-India, no patriotic person would accept them and hence we have lodged a complaint against her," he said, adding that an FIR should be registered against her immediately.

The comments that she has made in the recent past are dangerous to the unity of the country, the former police officer said, while showing copy of the complaint that he lodged at the IP police station of the capital city.

He slammed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president for allegedly saying that all young boys in the region think of either going to jail or picking up the gun against the country as nothing was being done to provide employment opportunities to them.

"There are more unemployed youth in other states of the country than in Jammu and Kashmir and they don't think on those lines,' he said, adding that leaders like her are dangerous for the country and should be put in jail.

He also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to look into the issue.

Mufti on Monday asserted that she will hold the tricolour and the flag of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir together, saying as an MLA she had reaffirmed her faith in the J-K Constitution and the sovereignty and integrity of India as both are inseparable.

She also accused the BJP of breaking the relations of Jammu and Kashmir with the country by its last year's decision of abrogating the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and bifurcating it into union territories.
