Elderly woman allegedly raped in Delhi; naked body found at flat

A 30-year-old man was arrested allegedly for raping and murdering a 60-year-old woman in New Delhi on Monday. According to the victim's son, he was not there when the incident happened. He told ETV Bharat that his mother was lying naked condition on the floor and her throat was slit by a sharp object.

New Delhi: An elderly woman was allegedly raped and brutally murdered in Delhi's New Ashok Nagar area on Sunday. The 60-year-old woman was living with his son and a relative in a rented house in Dallupura village. According to the victim's son, he was not there when the incident happened. He told ETV Bharat that his mother was lying naked condition on the floor and her throat was slit by a sharp object.

The incident reported within a day after a 65-year-old woman was found with her throat slit and some burn marks on her left leg at her home in north Delhi’s Burari on Saturday night, raising concerns over the rising crime against woman in the national capital. Police have arrested a 30-year-old man—who has been residing adjacent to the victim's house— based on the CCTV footage, a day after the heinous crime reported.

Meanwhile, the body of the victim sent for the post-mortem and the detailed report would ascertain whether the woman was raped or not.
