New Delhi: At least eight people injured in a gas cylinder explosion at a cooler assembling factory in the Daya Basti area of New Delhi.
Yashpal, an officer of the local fire service station, told media that the explosion when machinery at the factory pressed on a gas cylinder.

He said the blast fractured the walls of the factory and firemen managed to bring the flames under control after one hour.
"All the injured have been rushed to nearby hospitals," said the official.

According to the sources, hundreds of factories are being run illegally in Daya Basti, in which many flammable materials are used along with cylinders.

Meanwhile, the crime branch and the local police have started an investigation to ascertain the cause of the blast. The police also said efforts are underway trace the absconding factory owner.
