DSGMC delegation met Pakistan High Commission in India

Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) met Pakistani High Deputy Commissioner Syed Haider Shah in India. The delegation conveyed greetings on the occasion of the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.

Delhi: A delegation led by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) met Pakistan Deputy High Commissioner Syed Haider Shah in India.

On the upcoming occasion of the 550th birth anniversary, DSGMC submitted a memorandum to Pakistan's High Commissioner.

Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak committee intend to jointly organize Nagarkirtan from Delhi to Shri Nankana Sahib including Palki Sahib and allow 550 pilgrims for 5 days starting from 2nd November to 5th November to visit Lahore Gurdwara Nankana Sahib and Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib before the main celebration from 10th to 12th November.

DSGMC requested the Government of Pakistan to allow a minimum of 500 and maximum of thousand pilgrims every month from July to October to visit Guru Nanak Dev Ji's holy shrines in Pakistan.

DSGMC also demanded to fix a time to meet Pakistan authorities and Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak committee for further discussions on various issues adjoined delegation of 11 members from DSGMC and SGPC can be permitted for this regard.

While talking to media, president of DSGMC, Sirsa said that the response was good and Pakistan High Commission has ensured to take up these issues before the government.

The delegation comprised of Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Harmeet Singh Kalka, Ranjit Kaur, Kulwant Singh Baath, Harvinder Singh KP, and Paramjit Singh Chandhok.
