New Delhi: The Covid-19 situation in Delhi is gradually improving. The process of unlocking is happening in Delhi. Under this process, Delhi zoo is going to open for tourists from 1 August, 2021. Preparations are going on in full swing in the zoo premises before the grand opening. Delhi zoo director Ramesh Kumar Pandey said that Delhi zoo is being opened for tourists from 1 August. At the same time, tourists will be able to book tickets online from 31 July. He added that only a limited number of tourists will be allowed and there will be two shifts for the tourists to visit the zoo.

Ramesh Kumar Pandey added that the arrangements are being made in Delhi zoo before the arrival of tourists. Covid rules will be strictly followed during the visiting hours. He also added that continuous sanitization work is also going on in the zoo premises. The Delhi zoo director has also said that the visitors will have to wear masks, undergo thermal scanning, sanitization, and will have to follow Covid appropriate behaviour. He also said that strict action will be taken against anyone found violating the Covid guidelines.

The Delhi zoo was opened on 1 April, 2021, after being closed for almost a year due to Covid-19. However, after opening the zoo for a few days, it was shut down again due to the second wave this year.
