New Delhi: Parts of Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) witnessed heavy rains coupled with thunderstorms and gusty winds on Saturday morning, disrupting the flight services in the Delhi Airport. The sudden change in weather is expected to bring respite from the hot weather conditions prevailing over North India.

There were some tree falls reported in some of the roads and the municipal administration and the police were involved in clearing the same to restore traffic on that stretch. The weather office has predicted the rains and thunderstorms in the national capital and its adjoining areas on Saturday morning.

Flight operations at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport were affected due to 'bad weather' conditions. The airport authorities have advised travellers to contact the airlines to get updates on the flight information. "Due to bad weather, flight operations are impacted at Delhi airport. "Tosham, Rohtak, Kharkhoda, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Jhajjar, Loharu, Farukhnagar, Kosali, Mahendargarh, Sohana, Rewari, Palwal, Narnaul, Bawal, Nuh, Aurangabad, Hodal (Haryana) Gangoh, Deoband, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Kandhla, Khatauli, Baraut, Daurala, Bagpat, Meerut, Khekra, Modinagar, Kithor, Garhmukteshwar, Pilakhua, Hapur, Gulaoti, Siyana, Sikandrabad, Bulandshahar, Jahangirabad, Khurja, Gabhana, Jattari (U.P.) Sidhmukh, Pilani, Bhiwari, Jhunjunu, Tizara, Khairthal, Kotputli, Alwar, and Viratnagar (Rajasthan) during the next 2 hours," the India Meteorological Department (IMD) added.
