Delhi: Delhi government in order to reduce the paperwork in government schools will provide tablet computers to all the government school teachers from the academic session 2020-21.
The Directorate of Education has directed the heads of all the government run schools to provide tablet computers to all teachers so that they can be digitally empowered and can do all the work related to the students on their tablets from marking the attendance to the assessment of the students.
It has also been directed by the directorate to ensure that all the teachers are provided with the tablets and in case a teacher doesn't have one, then the tablet computer of retired teachers should be given to that teacher.
The schools have also been directed to keep the sufficient stock of the tablet computers and in case it does not have the stock then the school should inform the IT department so that the funds required to purchase the tablets can be given to the school.
The directorate has issued strict guidelines in this regard and asked the schools to provide the tablets to the teachers.
A sum of Rs 15,000 has also been earmarked for teachers to buy tablet computers. In case a teacher buys a tablet computer on their own then the money will be given by the school authorities in a few days after the submission of the bill.
