New Delhi: Dr MA Anwar of Al-Hind Hospital, who treated the injured during the Delhi riots has been found guilty by the Delhi Police in the riot case.
Dr MA Anwar of Al-Hind Hospital was much admired for setting an example of humanity by treating the wounded during the Delhi riots. He not only treated the injured but also accommodated the bullet victims in his hospital. However, the Delhi Police has now included the same Dr MA Anwar's name in the charge sheet filed for the Delhi riots. Ever since the Delhi Police has been investigating the riots, it has been facing allegations of unilateral and serious bias. Delhi Police seems to be reinforcing the allegations against them by naming Dr MA Anwar in the charge sheet. Dr MA Anwar has been charged with the murder of a man named Dilber Negi. He was working in Anil Suites located in Veteran's Shiv Vihar.
The Delhi Police has adopted the same method in making charges against Dr. Anwar as has been adopted in the other charge sheets. According to the police, Dr Anwar had organized a demonstration in Farooqia Masjid against the citizenship law. The people involved in the same demonstration took part in the riots of February 23, 2020. The charge sheet filed in Karkardooma Court contains the whole story of spreading rumours and inciting a particular community against the central government in the anti-citizenship demonstration of Farooqia Mosque.

The charge sheet states that the protesters were provoked on the night of February 23 and then took part in the riots. The case involves the names of Arshad Pardhan and Dr Anwar, about whom police say they have not yet questioned them. Habib-ur-Rehman of Al-Hinda Hospital told ETV Bharat that when the riots were taking place, the injured were treated at Al-Hind Hospital without any distinction of religion or nationality. It has been only three years since the establishment of this hospital. This hospital not only treated the injured but also played an important role in giving new life to those who were shot.
Relatives of Dr Anwar say that since he helped the riot victims, he is being targeted. According to him, since most of the victims were from a certain section of the society and they were treated in this hospital, that is which they are being trapped.
On the other hand, Dr Noor himself said in a media statement that "I did not hold any demonstration or join anyone, even I once told the police that these demonstrations are causing traffic problems, so these demonstrations should be removed." However, my name was included in it because I only treated the injured.
