Delhi polls: PM Modi, Shah urge voters to cast vote

PM Modi, BJP leaders took to Twitter and urged the people of Delhi, especially youngsters, to vote in record numbers. Polling for 70 Assembly constituencies of Delhi started today at 8 am and will continue till 6 pm in the evening.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday urged the people of Delhi to vote in record numbers.

"Urging the people of Delhi, especially my young friends, to vote in record numbers," Prime Minister Modi tweeted.

  • दिल्ली विधानसभा चुनाव के लिए आज मतदान का दिन है। सभी मतदाताओं से मेरी अपील है कि वे अधिक से अधिक संख्या में लोकतंत्र के इस महोत्सव में भाग लें और वोटिंग का नया रिकॉर्ड बनाएं।

Home Minister Amit Shah through a tweet has appealed to voters of Delhi to go out and vote for clean water and air, and homes for homeless today. He also asked voters to expose the vote bank politics and lies of the opposition through their votes today.

    मैं दिल्ली की जनता से अपील करता हूँ कि झूठ और वोटबैंक की राजनीति से दिल्ली को मुक्त करने के लिए मतदान अवश्य करें।

BJP president JP Nadda also urged the citizens of Delhi to cast their votes in large numbers and participate in the biggest festival of democracy.

Taking to Twitter, Nadda wrote in Hindi that voting is essential for the unity and integrity of the national capital.

"I appeal to all the voters of Delhi to vote in maximum numbers and participate in the great cause of democracy. Your one vote is important for the unity, integrity and overall development of Delhi. Your vote will write the golden future of your city," Nadda tweeted.

Polling for 70 Assembly constituencies of Delhi started today at 8 am.

Delhi is witnessing a triangular contest among AAP, BJP and Congress. In the last poll, the AAP had won 67 seats, while the BJP won 3 seats. Congress did not open its account.

Create record, turn out in large numbers: PM Modi urges Delhi voters
         New Delhi, Feb 8 (PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday urged Delhi voters to turn out in large numbers to exercise their franchise and create a "new voting record".
         Voting for the 70-member Delhi Assembly is underway. The counting will be done on Tuesday.
         "Today is the voting day for the Delhi Assembly elections. My appeal to all voters is that they participate in this festival of democracy in maximum number and create a new voting record," he tweeted in Hindi and English.
         On voting days, PM Modi often uses social media to urge people to vote in large numbers. PTI NAB
