Police to take riots accused Deep Sidhu to Red Fort

Both Deep Sidhu and Iqbal Singh are accused of inciting violence and are currently on remand of the crime branch where the police are questioning their links. Along with this, inquiries are also being made regarding funding related to violence.

New Delhi: The Crime Branch of New Delhi police can take the two arrested Deep Sidhu and Iqbal Singh to the Red Fort to gather more information on the 26 January violence.

Both Deep Sidhu and Iqbal Singh are accused of inciting violence and are currently on remand of the crime branch where the police are questioning their links. Along with this, inquiries are also being made regarding funding related to violence.

In the initial interrogations, Deep has confessed to his presence at the Red Fort, however, has refused that he was a part of the violent gang.

He may be taken to the Red Fort to understand which are the ways that were used by the mob to gain entry into the monument and all the spots where ruckus was created by them.

The police also want to from which part of the Fort Deep Sidhu went live on Facebook.

According to the police, all this information may prove crucial to understanding how the violence unfolded at the monument on Republic day.

Out of the eight main accused in the Red Fort violence on Republic day, only two have been arrested so far including Deep Sidhu and Iqbal Singh. A reward of one lakh rupees has been declared on Jugraj Singh, Gurjot Singh and Gurjant Singh the rest of the accused. At the same time, a reward of 50-50 thousand rupees has been announced on Jaybir Singh, Buta Singh and Sukhdev Singh.
