Delhi police nabs fraudster for deceiving bank customers

Delhi Police on Monday arrested a man named Deepak from Shalimar Garden on account of an FIR registered by a PNB bank customer against him for fraud of 5 lakhs. The accused used to pretend to be a bank employee and trick customers coming to the banks to deposit cash.

New Delhi: The Delhi Police nabbed a person in connection with multiple cases of bank fraud from Shalimar Garden area on Monday.

The accused has been identified as Deepak who used to deceive customers coming to the bank to deposit cash. According to the police, he had been doing this for the past 20 years. The Delhi police have claimed that his arrest will help them in solving other cases pertaining to Delhi, Haryana, UP and Rajasthan as well.

On 8th February, the accused tricked a customer named Tarun Marwah who had come to deposit an amount of 10 Lakhs in the PNB branch of Cannought place, New Delhi. He took 5 Lakhs from the customer and fled away saying that he will deposit the amount on his behalf since he might be questioned by the bank officials for depositing such a heavy amount.

The accused Deepak accepted the charges on his behalf following his arrest and is in police custody now. He has several pending cases registered against him.
