New Delhi: The Delhi Police's Special Cell has arrested a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist, Javed Matoo, an official said on Thursday. He was wanted in multiple terrorism-related cases in Jammu and Kashmir and carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head, according to police. According to the Delhi Police Special Cell, the team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched a search operation for him. Matto, a resident of J-K's Sopore, has also been to Pakistan.
This comes after the recent arrest of another Hizbul militant, Mohammed Yousaf Chouhan, in Kishtwar by Jammu and Kashmir Police. Chouhan was suspected of being involved in militancy-related incidents, and security forces recovered a Chinese grenade in his possession.
In a video that went viral on social media platforms ahead of Independence Day last year, Jave's brother Rayees Mattoo, was seen waving the tricolour in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore.
