COVID patient to Lifesaver: Man donates plasma 9 times in Delhi

Amid growing concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus, a man from Delhi has emerged as an unlikely hero in these difficult times. Tabrez Khan, a resident of Jahangirpuri in Delhi, has donated plasma for 9 times.

New Delhi: As the COVID-19 situation continues to be fragile and the threat is still far from over, a man in Delhi has set precedent for all to follow by donating plasma for as many as 9 times.

Tabrez Khan, a resident of Jahangirpuri, was also diagnosed with COVID-19 on March 18 and he recovered on April 5. Soon afterwards, he became the first plasma donor in the state.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Khan said that he feels proud of himself that he donated plasma for 9 times that helped in saving so many lives.

"I feel very satisfied and happy when I think that I am doing something for the noble cause. It feels great to think that my contribution is saving so many important lives in the country," he said.

He also appealed people to come in large number for plasma donation as it is need of the hour.

He said all those who recover from the virus should donate: "It does not cause any weakness, and it will not cost anything to donate."

Notably, Delhi reported 2,077 in the last 24 hours. After a brief drop, Delhi has seen a rise in the number of COVID-19 cases over the last few days.
