New Delhi: With the onset of the coronavirus pandemic while many professionals were left jobless or worked from the cozy four walls of their homes, government teachers saw a changing momentum in their roles.
They taught students online, oversaw ration distribution on corona duty, and even took on the role of a kitchen specialist and fed people stuck in the city due to the lockdown.
Even though corona is under control in the capital right now, the teachers have now been put on bird flu watch duty.
Under this, five teams have been constituted with three teachers each who will keep an eye on the poultry coming in and out from Delhi.
Delhi government's revenue department has ordered these teachers to check the vehicles carrying poultry and make entry specifying data like the type of bird the vehicle is carrying and whether these are flu-free and vaccinated and fit to eat.

The teachers are also to make sure that the vehicle has a certificate from authorised veterinary doctor.
The entry of canned meat is also not allowed in Delhi which these teachers will supervise.
If there is an entry of any such vehicle in Delhi, in which birds with infectious germs have arrived, then action can be taken against the teachers.
