Delhi: Dozen shops burgled, goods worth lakhs stolen in Shahdara

At Delhi's Shahdara Gandhi Nagar Textile Market, a dozen shops were burgled at around 1 at night by few miscreants. The police have recovered the CCTV footage from the cameras installed in the Gandhi Nagar Textile Market and have started the investigation.

New Delhi: A dozen shops were burgled and goods worth lakhs were stolen at Delhi's Shahdara Gandhi Nagar Textile Market.

The incident took place at around 1 AM when four to five miscreants broke the locks of shops.

The miscreants broke opened locks of a dozen shops and took away cash kept in counters inside the shops.

A shopkeeper said, "In the morning when I reached the shop the lock was broken. When I went inside, the money kept in the cash box along with goods were missing."

Shopkeepers also alleged that goods worth lakhs are also being stolen by the thieves.

Shopkeepers are angry with police as the incident of burglary have become in the Gandhi Nagar market and the officials are taking any steps to curtail the thieves.

Another shopkeeper said, "The miscreants are not even afraid of the police. The police do not patrol due to which the incidents are taking place."

A case has been registered by police and investigation is underway.
