Crime branch nabs ATM cheats for duping people in Delhi

Two men were arrested by Delhi Crime Branch for allegedly cheating people by cloning their ATM cards. The accused have been identified as Ramesh Kumar and Sonu Kumar.

New Delhi: The Delhi Crime Branch have arrested two men for allegedly cheating people by cloning their ATM cards.

The police have seized cloning machine, nine ATM cards and 12 blank cards from their possession. The accused have been identified as Ramesh Kumar and Sonu Kumar residing in Sultanpuri.

Reportedly, the Special Investigation Unit was informed that a gang is cheating people by cloning their ATM cards. Acting on a tip-off, the Crime Branch rushed to the spot late night near a mall and caught the two accused.

They carried out the crime in Sultanpuri, Prem Nagar, Nagloi, Mangolpuri areas of Delhi.

"We came to withdraw the money from the Bank of Maharashtra ATM. With the help of magnetic card, we did the ATM card cloning," Ramesh revealed during interrogation.

Initially, they tried to trick the police during the interrogation. Later on, the police took out the mini-statment of Bank of Maharashtra ATM card from the Union Bank ATM.

The account number mentioned on ATM card did not matched with the statement and it was revealed that the accused has prepared a clone card.
