Man granted bail to celebrate Eid with family

The court in Delhi in its order, said that the applicant deserves interim relief in the matter as he has been in judicial custody for more than a year now. The man has been accused of taking part in riots in Delhi.

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Friday granted interim bail of 15 days to a northeast Delhi riot accused to celebrate the festival of Eid with his family.

Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Yadav granted interim bail to the accused Gulfam, who has been in judicial custody for over a year.

He is an accused in a total of eight riot cases and has been granted bail in seven cases so far.

The court, in its order, said that the applicant deserves interim relief in the matter as he has been in judicial custody for more than a year now.

It further said that the accused would be released from jail only after getting an RT-PCR test done by authorities and will not seek an extension of interim bail on any ground whatsoever.

Notably, he was granted bail subject to furnishing Rs 20,000 in personal bond and surety of the same amount.
