New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had to face a strong public outrage during his visit to Humayunpur area of Malviya Nagar constituency on Saturday.
He was there to learn about the issues troubling the commoners in the city. He was accompanied by AAP leader and MLA of the area Somnath Bharti.
During the visit, they had to face the wrath of the locals as they were facing an acute water crisis.
An elderly person, who was miffed over the water shortage, questioned the CM in the presence of all the officials and ministers. He asked, "Four years ago, the government promised to install a tubewell. What happened to that promise?"
He added, "You promised so many things but none of the promises was fulfilled. We complained about the water crisis so many times, but no action has been taken till date."
CM Kejriwal assured the locals of bringing an end to their water woes.
On the non-fulfilment of promise, Somnath Bharti said that tubewell couldn't be installed due to the enforcement of Model Code of Conduct for the past two months.
It is to be noted that people of Humayunpur have been facing water and electricity issues since long. They have even complained to the CM and local MLA umpteen number of times but in vain.
