New Delhi: A statue of the famous environmentalist Sunderlal Bahuguna is being installed in the Delhi Assembly complex. On July 15, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will unveil the statue of Sunderlal Bahuguna in the Memory Gallery of the Delhi Assembly.

About 1.5 months ago, noted environmentalist, Sunderlal Bahuguna died on 21 May 2021. The statue of Sunderlal Bahuguna, a Padma Vibhushan awarded environmentalist and the leader of the Chipko movement, is being installed in the Delhi Assembly complex. Speaker Ram Niwas Goyal has also sent an invitation letter to Rajeev Bahuguna, son of Sunderlal Bahuguna, inviting him for the unveiling of the statue.

This invitation has been accepted on behalf of Rajiv Bahuguna and he will also be present in the Delhi Assembly complex on July 15 for the unveiling. Arvind Kejriwal is going to unveil the statue of Sunderlal Bahuguna at a time when his party is contesting elections in Uttarakhand, which is the state of Sunderlal Bahuguna and where people respect him a lot.
