New Delhi: Customs officials in Delhi have arrested two Afghan citizens with heroin worth Rs 136 crore at Indira Gandhi International Airport. They had come to India from Dubai by an Emirates Airways flight. The Afghan citizens were nabbed during a customs check at Terminal 3.

Joint Commissioner of Customs Shaukat Ali Nervi said that about 19.5 kg of heroin has been recovered, valued at around Rs 136 crores. The Customs officials stopped the Afghans after they crossed the Green Channel counter and almost reached the exit gate.

The Customs while scanning their bags found suspicious bottles of hair colour and shampoo containing thick black coloured liquid substances. On investigation, the liquid was confirmed to be heroin. Both were arrested after registering a case under the NDPS act. The police have now started the investigation in the case.
