Delhi Crime Branch nabs 8 members of Goldie Brar, Lawrence Bishnoi gangs

The criminal gangstrs are recruiting teenagers by offering inducements and also promising fame that the world of crime supposedly brings, said R S Yadav, Special Commissioner of Crime Branch, Delhi. Eight members of 3 extortion modules of Goldie Brar, Lawrence Bishnoi, Kala Jathedi, Naresh Sethi and Sampat Nehra gangs have been nabbed in Delhi.

New Delhi: Crime Branch of Delhi Police busted three extortion modules of Goldie Brar, Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Kala Jathedi, Naresh Sethi and Sampat Nehra gangs and arrested 8 miscreants. Police have also recovered 6 weapons from them. RS Yadav, Special Commissioner of Crime Branch said that members of the Goldie Brar-Lawrence Bishnoi gang are recruiting and using teenagers also for extortion.

In order to make the teenagers join their gangs, apart from giving them various kinds of inducements, they are also luring them to earn fame by coming into the world of crime. RS Yadav said that this gang extorts money from people in Delhi, NCR, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and Rajasthan. The gang leaders are sitting abroad and recruiting people here to commit crimes in many states of India.

RS Yadav said that on the instructions of their leaders sitting abroad, the gang members working here first identify the soft target. In these, real estate dealers, builders, bookies, gambling houses, land grabbers and big jewellers are identified. After that, taking the name of Lawrence Bishnoi, these people threaten the concerned person for extortion.

The gang members threaten by writing a letter or by calling or messaging and sometimes they themselves go and directly threaten the concerned person. After keeping their share, these people send the entire amount abroad through hawala. These people lure teenagers and youths in the age group of 15 to 20 years from Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan to join their gangs. These people provide them with weapons and bikes as well as other things necessary for committing crimes.

The first case is of Sunlight Colony. Here on April 23, 5 rounds of firing were reported at the door of a house. Both were recorded in CCTV cameras. After this, the victim had told in the complaint given to the police that on March 23, he had received a voice message from a foreign number in which two crore rupees were demanded. The message had described himself as Anmol Bishnoi, brother of Lawrence Bishnoi. On April 23, after the firing at the house, a voice message was sent to the victim, in which he was told that if he did not pay the money, he would be attacked and killed.

The second case is related to the Naresh Sethi gang. On April 17, a property dealer in Mundka received a call from a foreign number and demanded to pay money. On 24th April, he was again called and threatened. On April 27, 3 people who came on a bike fired at him in his office, injuring him and his friend sitting in that office was also shot. The police have arrested the shooter Sameer in this case. The police have also arrested a minor.

The third case is of the Kala Jathedi gang. Police have arrested 3 miscreants of the Kala Jathedi and Lawrence Bishnoi gangs who have been identified as Sunny alias Prince, Ashu alias Pravesh and Sunny alias Praveen. Six pistols and 19 cartridges have been recovered from them.
