New Delhi: While the scare of novel coronavirus forces us to lock ourselves inside houses, the security personnel deployed in the contaminated zones have to stand on their toe to avoid any further escalation of the deadly virus.
Till now, over 50 police personnel of Delhi Police have tested positive of COVID-19, while toiling their duties in virus-contaminated zones.
Many of them are not allowed to visit their home since the pandemic erupted in the national capital. To safeguard the families of the defence personnel, the Delhi government has made arrangements of their accommodation in government schools, colleges and hotels.
Elaborating the arrangements made for the corona warriors, Joint Commissioner of Police Shuvasish Choudhary said, "Those who are deployed in the contaminated zones are provided with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), masks, sanitisers and face shield to avoid contraction of the deadly virus."
Choudhary further maintained that the police personnel are advised not to visit their homes during the lockdown period. We have ensured proper arrangements for their stay at government schools, colleges and hotels, added Choudhary.
Meanwhile, Director-General of Police Sanjay Bhatia informed ETV Bharat that the security personnel are advised to take food enriched with vitamin-c in order to boost their immunity power.
"Moreover, the Delhi police has provided tablets of vitamin c including ayurvedic medicines to keep them healthy throughout this operation", added Bhatia.
The national capital has registered more than 4,200 cases of the novel coronavirus and claims more than 60 lives till May 3rd, Health Ministry informed on Sunday.
