With candles held in their hands and black badges tied over their forehead, hundreds of women raised slogans against the BJP government and the people who have been accused of the heinous crime of rape.

While speaking to ETV Bharat, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee Chief, Kumari Shelja said, "Mahila Congress has organized this march against the rising atrocities against women . Until the BJP government takes some strict action against the accused of these crimes, the numbers will keep on increasing. Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said, "The kind of crime that we are seeing against women is deplorable. We, as women, need to come together and raise our voices. We are not victims, we are not going to bow down before these crimes, before violence, we are courage."

The solidarity march was led by AIMC President, Sushmita Dev. Kumari Shelja and Alka Lamba also joined this march. It followed the incidents of rape and murder cases of Hyderabad, Unnao and Nirbhaya, which lead to a furore in the entire country.

Earlier in the day, the Parliament saw an uproar of the Bhartiya Janta Party over the 'Rape in India' remark made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, seeking an apology from him.

"Rahul ji has said the same thing which our Prime Minister had said earlier. Why BJP is uproaring now? Why does our PM always remain silent on the issue of crime against women? We don't think Rahul Ji has said anything wrong," said Kumari Shelja.
