New Delhi: Once a close aide of former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, senior BJP leader Tom Vadakkan on Saturday alleged that the biggest communal party in the country is none other than the Congress party.
Vadakkan, who joined the BJP last month after leaving Congress, alleged that it is Congress party which polarizes and not the BJP.
"The biggest communal force in this country is the Congress party. Come election time, there is a division. They use religion as a methodology to run their campaign against the BJP and RSS," he said.
The former Congress leader also alleged that Sonia Gandhi was shy of her religion.
"If I am an Indian, I am also proud of being a Christian, somebody else is proud of being a Hindu of Muslim, why somebody is hiding his religion," he said.
The BJP leader was speaking at a meeting of Bishops and Arch Bishops with senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar in the national capital.
The meet was organised by the National Independent Bishops Council to discuss the Lok Sabha elections 2019.
Bishops and Arch Bishops from across the country participated in the meeting.
