Govt committed to ensuring supply of essential goods: Minister

The Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Parkash said that the government is committed to make India COVID-19 free and in this regard, all the ministers who are mostly working from home have completed most of the file works.

New Delhi: Amit covid-19 Coronavirus outbreak Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced lockdown in country and all the ministries and officials work from home and completed work via video conferencing.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has been actively taking meetings via- video conferencing.

Some of the ministries have started working from office with limited staff this week including Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

Minister of State (Industry and Commerce) Som Parkash said, "All work was carried out from home and file work was completed. Everyday meeting with ministry officials was done via video conferencing. Our aim is to beat this pandemic and we are ensuring that people get all essential goods. We will also take care of transportation of goods if required."

According to the Union Health Ministry, the death toll due to the novel coronavirus rose to 339 and the number of cases above 10,000 in the country on Tuesday.
