"We approached the Aam Aadmi Party to form a coalition to defeat BJP in Delhi, but they are too stubborn to do so," Chacko said.

"AAP leader Sanjay Singh demanded 4 out of 7 seats for AAP and Congress on remaining 3 seats. This has made the coalition impossible here," he said.

"Rahul Gandhi wanted the parties to look for an alternative to defeat the BJP in Delhi. Which is why we decided to form a coalition but now the Congress wants the same in Punjab and Haryana as well and their demands are increasing," he added.

"The situation in those two states is different as AAP has their government in Delhi," Chacko added.

PC Chacko said that the Congress has kept the option of coalition open till the end. But the coalition is no longer possible. The Congress will now field its candidate in all 7 Lok Sabha constituencies of Delhi.
