People excited to witness Chandrayaan-2's Vikram landing on lunar surface

People from all over the country are excited to witness the soft-landing of Chandrayaan-2's lander Vikram on the moon in the early hours of Saturday. Nehru Planetarium has also arranged special shows to celebrate the mission with telescopes followed by sky theatre experiences related to the moon.

New Delhi: Chandrayaan-2's lander - Vikram, is going to make a soft landing on the surface of the moon in the early hours of Saturday. People from across the country and the world are excited to witness as India is all set to script history with its ambitious moon mission on the south pole of the lunar surface.

The Chandrayaan-2 mission comes exactly 50 years after the first human stepped onto the lunar surface on July 20, 1969, as Apollo-11 landed on the moon with three astronauts.

ETV Bharat interacted with people to find out about their feelings about the country's moon mission.

"It is a great achievement of India and you are the leaders in this realm of the world. We need to learn a lot from you," said a US citizen, Mary. Like many Indian citizens, she was also excited about the mission and got really fascinated to know about Chandrayaan-2.

As Chandrayaan-2 is the most complicated and technologically challenging space mission, it is the most important one as well for India and for the space community.

"I am really excited to watch Chandrayaan-2 landing on the surface of the moon. Now, I want to be a scientist and I will work for our country to go to the moon," said a six-year-old Ariba.

Nehru Planetarium has also arranged special shows to celebrate the mission with telescopes, followed by sky theatre experiences related to the moon.
