In his video, the Congress leader said, "When Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of this country, he promised to give employment to the 2 crore young people of India. He made the people dream big. But it soon became the reality of 14 crore people who became unemployed due to Modi Government's policies."

He further added, "Why did this happen? Demonetization, GST and then lockdown- these three steps destroyed the economic structure of India. And now the reality is that India can't give employment to its youth."
The youth wing of the Congress has started this campaign on its foundation day, aiming to raise the voice of unemployed youth across the country. While speaking about the campaign, IYC President Srinivas BV said, "Today, over 30 crore employable youth in India are unemployed and are committing suicide every day due to the ever-rising levels of unemployment. Sadly, the Central Government has completely ignored the voice of youth."
In a statement released by IYC, it has been stated, "The government came to power by promising jobs to two crore people every year. Accordingly, 12 crore people should have received employment in the past six years. In contrast to that, the mismanagement of Covid-19 and the apathy of the government towards the younger generation and unregulated sectors, at least 12 crore people have lost their jobs so far."
IYC will also organize sit-in demonstrations and agitations across the country raising the demands that posts lying vacant in various government departments should be filled immediately, privatisation of Railways and other government institutions should be stopped, financial help for the unemployed youth and curbs on posts being abolished in government departments.
