New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Sub-inspector and a constable of Ghazipur police station in connection with an alleged bribery case on Tuesday.
According to the report, the arrested persons have been identified as SI Hari Mohan Gautam and Head Constable Mahipal Dhaka.
A case was registered against the accused on the allegations of demanding a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant in lieu of conducting verification for arms license of the complainant. It was further alleged that the sub-inspector and a head constable were conspiring together and settled the tip for Rs 10,000.
"CBI arrested a SI and a head constable, in connection with a bribery case. They have been caught with Rs 10,000" an official said.
Searches were conducted at the office and residential premises of the accused located in Delhi. Both the arrested accused will be produced today before the designated court in Delhi.
