New Delhi: Expressing happiness over the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) investigating the alleged drug racket in Bollywood, Delhi MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa said people who tried to malign the image of Punjab will be exposed.
"It's big news and a victory for us as the influential people of the film industry, who made films on Punjab (showing how the state was struggling with drug problem) will be exposed now," he told ETV Bharat.
The Delhi lawmaker said that filmmaker Karan Johar, who also hosts a popular coffee show with film stars, would now have coffee with the NCB.
"I had been asking for it (probe) for a long time," he said, adding that had they paid attention to it, the life of actor Sushant Singh Rajput could have been saved.
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader had filed a complaint with the NCB a few days ago against Bollywood personalities like Karan Johar, Deepika Padukone, Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Varun Dhawan and others for consumption and possession of drugs. Sirsa lodged the complaint after a viral video showing these people consuming drugs at a party in Mumbai.
