New Delhi: A local BJP leader was shot dead outside a mosque in Northeast Delhi on Monday morning.
Zulfiqar Qureshi, a BJP leader and RTI activist was shot dead by unknown persons outside a mosque in Nand Nagri police station limits.
According to reports, Qureshi had stepped out with his son towards a nearby mosque for the early morning prayers, when unknown assailants attacked the father-son duo.
The assailants shot at Qureshi and attacked his son with a knife before fleeing from the spot.
While Qureshi died at the spot, his son was rushed to the hospital by the local police.
Qureshi's son was undergoing treatment at the Safdarjung hospital where he succumbed to his injuries
Meanwhile, the police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
