Bihar govt opens food centres for labourers in Delhi

Nitish Kumar government has set up ten free food centres in the national capital to help migrant workers stranded in the city amid lockdown. A large number of people are being fed at these centres and all precautions are also being taken while distributing food among them.

New Delhi: Bihar government has come forward to help thousands of migrated workers stranded in the national capital by establishing free food centres for them in the city.

According to the official sources, the Nitish Kumar government have established ten food centres for the workers, who have lost their work amid lockdown, imposed to combat coronavirus.

Sonia Vihar, Aya Nagar, Palam Colony, Shakarpur and Badarpur are some of the areas where the Bihar government has made arrangements to provide two meals a day to all workers.

Officials said that all necessary precautions are followed while food is distributed. People are directed to maintain the required distance from each other and also to wear masks as they come to take food.

Timings for lunch and dinner are 1200 to 1400 hours and 1900 to 2100 hours respectively, they informed.
