Athawale: More profit for Modi govt if Rahul remains Cong President

Addressing a press conference, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale, took a dig at Congress President Rahul Gandhi. The Union Minister said it is more favorable for the Modi government if Rahul Gandhi continues to remain Congress President. The minister even claimed that the main reason for Congress President's loss is his negative campaign against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

New Delhi: After taking charge of his ministry, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale took a sharp jibe Congress President Rahul Gandhi over his electoral loss in the recently concluded polls.

Addressing a press conference, the Union Minister said, "It is more favourable for Modi government if Rahul Gandhi continues to remain Congress President. Winning and losing is part of politics. There was a time when BJP had only two seats in Lok Sabha. Now, it's BJP's time. So, it's time for us to work. Rahul should continue to remain as Congress President."

The Republican Party of India (RPI) Chief didn't stop there, he went on to claim that, the main reason for Congress President's loss is his negative campaign against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Ramdas Athawale, who took charge for the second time as Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment said, he will keep working for the poorer sections of the society.

Hailing PM Modi, he said, "It's wrong to call PM Modi a non-secular figure. He had no hand in Gujarat riots. I have seen his biopic. He takes care of the minorities as well."
