New Delhi: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Dr BD Mishra called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday and discussed the prevailing law and order situation in the state.
Governor Mishra called on Shah at North Block and briefed him about the security scenario of the state. It is learnt that Mishra has also briefed Shah on the recent ambush where NPP MLA Taron Aboh and 10 others were killed by suspected NSCN-IM in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.
According to the sources, Shah has been urged to modernize the state police force to tackle the insurgency problem in three districts of the state.
Mishra has briefed Shah about the insurgency problem in the eastern district of Arunachal Pradesh namely Tirap, Changlang and Longding, all these districts share their boundary with Myanmar.
The Governor has also appealed Shah to provide required central assistance for accommodation facilities for police personnel.
On Monday too, Governor Mishra met Shah and discussed the present scenario of the state.
