Anil Deshmukh's lawyer and CBI SI's bail pleas rejected

Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has rejected the bail pleas of ​​former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh's lawyer Anand Daga and CBI SI Abhishek Tiwari in the CBI document leak case in lieu of bribe. Special Judge Vimal Yadav has issued orders in this regard. On 6 September, the court sent both of them to judicial custody for 14 days. After this, Anand Daga and Abhishek Tiwari filed a bail petition in court.

New Delhi: Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has rejected the bail pleas of ​​former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh's lawyer Anand Daga and CBI SI Abhishek Tiwari in the CBI document leak case in lieu of bribe. Special Judge Vimal Yadav has issued orders in this regard. On 6 September, the court sent both of them to judicial custody for 14 days. After this, Anand Daga and Abhishek Tiwari filed a bail petition in court.

During the hearing, the CBI informed the court that Abhishek Tiwari had taken iPhone 12 Pro and other expensive gifts from Anand Daga in exchange for information about the ongoing investigation. CBI SI Abhishek Tiwari had visited Pune for investigation, where he received expensive gifts as a bribe for leaking the CBI documents. CBI has also informed the court the SI Abhishek Tiwari has received gifts from Anil Deshmukh's lawyer Anand Daga on several occasions.

According to the FIR registered by the CBI, the Investigating Officer and CBI DSP RS Gunjiyal and SI Abhishek Tiwari had gone to Mumbai on 6 April for investigation against Deshmukh. On 14 April, statements of several witnesses including Anil Deshmukh were recorded. Abhishek Tiwari had many sensitive documents related to the case. He shared these documents with Arvind Daga through WhatsApp. After that, an FIR was registered against Anil Deshmukh on the instructions of senior CBI officers.

On 18 August, the Supreme Court had ordered the continuation of the CBI investigation against Anil Deshmukh. The Supreme Court had refused to quash the FIR registered against Deshmukh, who is also facing charges including illegal extortion.
