AIIMS candidates urge to postpone PG entrance test

AIIMS is gearing up for PG entrance test but candidates are requesting its postponement. According to the rules set by the institute, only asymptomatic people with no history of contact with a COVID positive case can appear for the exam. The exam will be conducted at 150 centres across the country.

New Delhi: As All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is getting ready to conduct the PG entrance exam this Thursday, some of the candidates have requested for the postponement of the exam due to COVID-19.

The decision by the institute to hold the PG entrance examinations on June 11 was notified on June 1 to the candidates and admit cards were issued on June 6, 2020. According to the rules set by the institute, only asymptomatic people with no history of contact with a COVID positive case can appear for the exam.

Anyone appearing in the exams would need to sign a declaration on their admit cards and would be held legally liable if the information furnished by them proves wrong, that is if they came in contact with any COVID patient.

All the candidate will go through thermal scanning and will be provided with three surgical masks at the centres. Around six feet of distance between each candidate will also be maintained.

The exam will be conducted at 150 centres across the country.
