New Delhi: With Delhi police investigating last week's mob attack on JNU students and faculty, ABVP on Saturday reiterated that the attackers were from the Left parties.
Manish Jangid, a presidential candidate of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in JNU, said that he was going to get himself registered when a group of people attacked him.
"I ran towards Periyar hostel after the attack and locked myself with others in a room there but the attackers broke the door and entered our room forcefully. They attacked us with rods and sticks. I lost consciousness and woke up in AIIMS," Jangid told ETV Bharat here.
He said that JNUSU president Aishie Ghosh and other student union leaders led the masked mob attackers. Jangid added that his hand was fractured and he had to get it treated for hours at AIIMS.
He further said that the ABVP would extend its full support to the police in investigating the matter."Anyone, who was involved in the violent attack, should be punished," he added.
