New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will hold protests against the proposed new/hiked taxes of North MCD, the ruling party announced on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference here, senior AAP leader Durgesh Pathak said the BJP has proposed new/enhanced North MCD taxes and like the AAP protested against the SDMC tax proposals, it will do the same in the north as well.
Talking about the proposals, he said the BJP proposes levying professional tax on salaried individuals and others, a hike in property transfer tax, and also hike in electricity tax.
Pathak said it would lead to extra burden on everyone and make life difficult for common people and the AAP would not sit quietly and protest against the decision.
"The AAP would have no option but protest along with the people in case the BJP does not take the proposal back," he said.
A few weeks ago, the AAP protested the decision to hike taxes in south Delhi by the SDMC and demanded rollback of the hike in taxes.
