New Delhi: A Delhi court allowed on Friday the city police's application to obtain voice sample of Aaftab Amin Poonawala, accused of brutally killing her girlfriend in Delhi's Mehrauli and dismembering her body. The voice sample test will be conducted on Monday morning at the CBI headquarters, the court said. The Delhi court also extended Aaftab judicial custody by 14 days.
Meanwhile, the court has extended the judicial custody of Aaftab Amin Poonawala by 14 days. Poonawala, alleged to have strangled Walkar and chopped her body into pieces, was produced before the court through video conference. Metropolitan Magistrate Vijayshree Rathore extended Poonawala's judicial custody till January 6.
Earlier, a Delhi Court dismissed the bail application of Aftaab Amin Poonawala after the latter refused to press his petition. He was produced in the court through video conferencing. While talking to the media, Shraddha's father's advocate Seema Kushwaha said, "Chargesheet not filed yet but Aftaab's bail application filed. Aftaab denied giving permission to his advocate to file for bail. His advocate should have stood for humanity first and then for a criminal. However, today he withdrew the bail application."
