108 Ganga Ram Hospital staffers quarantined, hospitalized

Over 100 staffers of Delhi's Sir Ganga Ram Hospital have been quarantined after they were exposed to people who tested positive for the killer disease. Some of them are hospitalized for treatment and care, official of the hospital told media.

New Delhi: Over one hundred medical workers, including doctors and nurses, of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, have either been quarantined or hospitalized after they came in contact with some people, who tested positive for coronavirus, the pandemic that has killed thousands across nations.

Out of 108 hospital staffers, 85 have been placed under home quarantine as a precautionary measure and 23 are hospitalized, a hospital spokesperson informed.

"As per hospital policy, all fever cases are being referred for COVID-19 testing. After their reports returned positive for COVID-19, the hospital has quarantined everyone who came in contact with them,” he said.

The hospital official also informed that one of the 108 staffers was admitted in the ICU considering his medical condition.

Meanwhile, India has witnessed a major rise in coronavirus affected cases with many from Tablighi Jamaat testing positive for the disease, which has killed over fifty thousand people across the nations.
