Bijapur (Chhattisgarh): 22 soldiers were martyred in an encounter with Naxals in Bijapur. The alleged mastermind of this attack is a most wanted Naxalite Hidma. According to the police intelligence department and senior officers involved in anti-Naxal operations, Hidma is more dangerous than Ramanna.
Hidma is given the command to chalk out plans and carry out Naxalite attacks and this isn't good news for other security forces engaged in anti-Naxal operations.

However, despite the constant efforts of the security personnel to find and eliminate Hidma, they have not been able to capture or eliminate him yet.
Plans to carry out attacks on Hidma
It was following a piece of information about the presence of Hidma in Tarrem that police had launched an operation which led to the encounter on Saturday. Unfortunately, the security forces got trapped in the ambush allegedly planned by Hidma.

According to senior police officers overseeing the anti-Naxal operations, the CPI (Maoist) Central Committee appointed Hidma as the head of the Special Zonal Committee (DKSJC). Hidma has also been tasked to plan and carry out attacks against security forces in the entire Maoist belt of Chhattisgarh.
Who is this dreaded Naxalite Hidma?
- Hidma hails from the Sukma district of Bastar.
- Hidma alias Hidmanna is a resident of Poovarti village in Sukma.
- Hidma has a bounty of 50 lakhs.
- He heads PLGA-1 (People's Liberation Guerrilla Army-1) Battalion.
- He assumed charge following the death of Ramanna.
- The alleged mastermind of the Jhiram Naxalite attack.
- He had also led the Tadmetla Naxalite attack.
- Mastermind of Bijapur Naxalite encounter 2021.
- Highly active in regions of Sukma, Bijapur and Dantewada.

Rs 50 lakh reward declared
Chhattisgarh Police has placed a reward of 50 lakh rupees on Hidma. In the recent Bijapur ambush, Naxalites resorted to attacking the special forces using Tactical Counter Offensive Campaign (TCOC), wherein their aim is to attack as many security forces as possible.
Masterminded several Naxalite attacks
Hidma is a resident of Bastar and his age is said to be about 45 years. If sources are to be believed, he is one of the top Naxalite leaders of the Bastar division. Prior to this, under the leadership of Hidma, Naxalites carried out ambushes in Kasalpal, Meenpa and other areas.

Reward declared by three states for Hidma's capture
Telangana, Odisha and Chhattisgarh have declared a reward on Hidma and he's the biggest target for all three states. Therefore, on the information of his presence in Chhattisgarh, the Bastar Police launched the operation. But in all cases, Hidma managed to flee.
Hidma heads the special zonal committee of CPI (Maoist)
In Chhattisgarh, a lot of money is being spent on the elimination of Naxalites. However, there doesn't seem to be a solution to the problem. According to information received from sources, Naxalites are trapping soldiers through ambushes by adopting TCOC or guerrilla warfare tactics.
