The families after leaving the village took refugee near Sukma.

The families were given a week's time to leave the village.

Earlier, one of the family members, Balram, was murdered by the Naxals on the pretext of being police informers.

The relatives of the deceased said that he had gone to graze the cow, during which he was taken by Naxalites.

The Naxalites informed the families and people of the surrounding village and a public court was organised.

In the court, Balaram was accused of being a police informer and sentenced to death.

Families who have left the village said that the Naxalites have been terrorising people in this area following which many families have left their homes.

Maoists are losing their support base and hence, are "terrorising" other villagers to support them or quit their native place.
