Sukma: The Shooting of Allu Arjun's upcoming film 'Pushpa-2' has begun in the forests of Odisha's Malkangiri, adjacent to Sukma in Chhattisgarh. A team of around 200 people has reached Malkangiri from Telangana.
It has been learnt that the shooting will continue for a period of 20 days. Telugu superstar Allu Arjun has already arrived and the set is ready. The spot where the shooting is being held is surrounded by dense forests.
In view of the Naxalite presence in the area, a strict security arrangement has been made in Malkangiri and the surrounding areas. The scenes of the film are being shot in different tourist sites of Malkangiri, which is popular for its mountain ridges and isolated tribal habitats.
In the past, many films have been shot in these forests of Bastar, which are known for its scenic beauty. But, these areas are not frequented by tourists due to fear of Naxalites. The district has recorded a total of 342 Naxalite incidents that led to deaths of 101 civilians and 77 security personnel between 2008 to 2021.

Earlier, it was decided that a few portions of 'Pushpa-2' would be shot in the forests of Sukma. However, due to Naxalite terror, the shooting site was shifted to Malkangiri. Even, blockbuster film Bahubali was planned to be shot in Handwara, the famous waterfall of Dantewada but the production team could not reach there due to Naxalite problem. Finally, it was shot in Ramoji Film City.
'Pushpa-2' is scheduled to be released next year. On the eve of Allu Arjun's birthday, a poster was released along with a teaser - "Where is Pushpa?". In the poster, Allu Arjun is seen wearing a saree and gold jewellery.
